I don’t know about PC monitors but if it were a white goods product then IIRC the spares *have* to be available for a minimum of eight years – by law! If the manufacturer cannot supply the parts then they are obliged to either give you a new one or give you one at a hugely reduced cost.

We’ve just been told that one of our 17” Gateway monitors is not able to be repaired because a replacement “fly-back transformer” is no longer available.  The monitor is only two years old and it seems a shame just to dump it like this.

 

Anyone know where I could try for the part before writing it off?
