Yup, when I was wiring up my place, I accidentally plugged my network
tester
into a patchpanel wired to the phone line. The phone rang then and that was
it - one tester RIP. £75 later, I'm much more careful these days..... [side
note, on ebay you can get new testers from china for about 8 quid!)
