Andrew,

KAT5 regulates its voltages internally and will work fine for anything
above
9V so 0.5 volt drop will cause no problems whatsoever.

If you do double up the wires then do it in the connectins within the DC
plug and the power jacks on the patch panel. That way all your CAT5 remains
standard.

I agree, but what about the voltage drop? At 15m from my PSU, if my
maths is right, I'm close to a 4% drop on a 12v supply over CAT5. Is
KAT5 comfortable with this, or should I double-up some of the cores?
