Read the post. The problem is not the experts - they at least can
argue their positions and, like you, can probably back them up. The
problem is a deep and widespread suspicion of intellectualism in the
US, in favour of watered-down, fluffy-headed religiosity. The decay
you observe in the USPTO is a reflection of the entire society.
Obama's the first step towards a cure for the stupid "disease".
Normally I don't care much about politics - I've often thought a
presidential lottery would be just as effective and a lot cheaper. But
time's running out and you have once in a lifetime opportunity to do
it right for a change..
