If you look at the screenshots at http://davehouston.net/ESM1-TEST.htm,
you'll see the ZC signal is skewed. It just uses the 12VAC signal on a PIC
pin (through a 33K current limiting resistor), relying on the PIC clamping
diodes to limit the voltage. It's really not terribly sophisticated.
