I got the "Structured Wiring Design Manual" and it was actually pretty
good.  It was specific at times in terms of technology used
(FutureSmart distribution panel), but you will definitely get the idea
of it.  Not sure there is anything that will give you an overview of
everything out there as there is quite a lot and different
technologies, but it does cover computer, audio, security,
lighting/water/blinds/gate/etc. automation.
