Hibiscus tea?  My mom got a Hibiscus tree last year for Mother's day and
I've been caring for it off & on.  I especially had to "baby" it this
summer as it needed tons of water.  It grew from 2.5' to about 5' in less
than a year.  I transplanted it once (I'm keeping it in a pot in case it
gets cold this "winter" and it needs to brought inside).  Never heard of
making tea from it.

With dried poppy pods you can crush them and run them through a coffee
maker and get a damn strong pain killer.  The only problem is it's
impossible to dose, you never know how strong your pods are.  I wouldn't
recommend someone trying it if they are "opiate naive" (not have a
tolerance) or it would be a good way to check out early.  I have not done
it in years, and even then I would sip a little and wait to see how
strong it is before taking more.  You used to be able to buy them on
eBay, no longer though.  I later found out it's illegal to convert the
pods into "straw", and decided it wasn't worth a drug charge!
