Only as a last resort should the code reader be used.

If possible though, you should go for the secret tunnel... that way you can
also splice into the cameras and loop the video so it looks like nothing is
happening.

Come to think of it though, I have a hard enough time getting electricians
to install an outlet above a suspended ceiling for me.  How do these
installers have someone build an entire underground tunnel for their panels
and coax junction boxes?  I'm starting to think that maybe some of this
movie stuff doesn't really happen.
