Nick,
The low survival rate is for CRC(4) patients in general. The rate for those
who have already survived surgery / chemo and had a clean PET is much higher.
Basically, the farther you go with good results, the higher your probability
of long-term success. I know that probably sounds obvious, but the point is
that by getting this far and having a clean scan you've joined an elite group
of folks more likely to stay cancer free.
For now, just keep on going. You'll get through the chemo and when it's done
you'll start to build up to a healthy frame again. This time next year if
you're feeling up to it, maybe I'll invite you to do some fishing down in the
Amazon. I've got more miles than I can use anyway. :^)
