First, the buttons on the fobs have to be held for about two seconds so
accidentally activating them is harder than you think.  Also, you only
have to be careful until you are 150-200 feet from your house, then they
generally won't work anymore (it's not impossible for them to get more
range but not by much).

A system with no delay is a noisy pain in the ass and I strongly
encourage you not to do it that way.  You can set it for instant or max
if you ever desire, but for day to day use the delay.

The 5827's are crap (my opinion only - okay, mine and all the other guys
I work with)
