I thought the account number was programmed in the contacts section of
the phone itself under user "ALRM account number".

I believe there is a USB dongle available to connect the cell phone
directly to the DSC 1500's microprocessor to allow for 'superfast'
alarm quickness.  The OP may want to scour Ebay for one where they be
had on the cheap.
