  I've used plain PVC cable with no problems.  DO NOT use Plenum rated
jacket, it will not stand up in the long term.  Burial grade is best
of course.

  What conductor do you need?  I have some direct burial in small
amounts.  Mostly 18/2 and maybe 18/6.
