Yes.  This happens from time to time.

Yes.  Any CS worth using will not only record
the Caller ID information.  Their software
should alert the CS operator when a call comes
in that the Caller ID does not match the data
on file for the account.

Ask the CS if they can/will record and compare
Caller ID data on all future signals.  If they are
not set up to do that, get another company to
monitor the system.

There are several companies offering monitoring
directly to end users at reasonable rates.
Check out both www.911Alarm.com and
www.NextAlarm.com.  Perhaps you can get
better service and save a little $$ as well.  Their
fees run about $8-12 a month.
