They do that to reduce service cost.  Every manufacturer does it.  MFG says,
"Hmmm...  Never saw that before."  Local mechanics says, "Take a look out
back.  I got 20 of them on the bone pile.  Yours makes 21."

Firelite cost me a cusotmer over this bullshit.  I spent several montsh
trying to trouble shoot a problem only to find out their panels often lock
up when sending CID... AND THEY KNOW IT!!!   I switched to to pulse and it
worked fine.  If they had told me that to start with I might have saved the
customer.  Screw them.
