Boy, can I relate to that !! Even had angry clients pull their system
down totally to find the chirping is coming from a CO detector nearby
with a low battery.
BTW, there are some of these cheap AC smokes that chirp, and also
speak to you saying "low battery". I have seen some of this type
installed up here in new homes recently. A thing to note; if you
change the battery, it will still continue to warn you of a low
battery unless you actually set the smoke detector into alarm with the
test button. It seems the unit doesn't "see" the new higher voltage
battery unless it goes into alarm. Gotta wonder....
