Just evaluating some ideas.

Should an automation system be just that automation only with maybe a
communications connection with security systems like a GE NX8?

Should it be a complete seperate system?

Or is it better for them to be all in one.  Like HAI, Elk, or Stargate?

What are the pros and cons?
