No complexity necessary. Use standard IP cameras and DVR software that can
record from them (check out VideoInsight's IP Server, www.videoinsight.net).
Pretty straightforward stuff. WiFi-enabled IP cameras are available, but they
ain't cheap (*quality* wired IP cameras aren't either for that matter, but you
didn't mention any cost concerns).
