Is an all digital solution possible
I'm looking to set up a network of upto four cameras but I'm unsure if an
all digital solution is practical...
Two of the cameras will be used as security cameras and two for watching the
bird boxes or similar. Ideally I'd like to be able to record the output of
these cameras as well as view real time data on a PC.
I'd like the system to have pre/post trigger recording capabilities. It
would be great if these were highly programable/flexible so that I can set
different time periods for each camera as well as pre/post trigger.
The site is wired with two seperate "CAT 8" (eg Cat 7f) networks and a
wireless LAN so there should be plenty of bandwidth.
How best to do the recording? Use a PC and recording software or a dedicated
DVR of some sort?
Is it best to use a simple camera and complex S/W or a fancy camera with
built in recording buffers?
