That's Funny!!!!!!!!
Look everyone, Here's my take on this ridiculously long thread.
If I'd have known that " J " was J. Sloud I would not have lifted a
finger to respond to his well known notions, born of ingorance. I have
a feeling that a lot of others here made the same mistake. If it is, in
fact, the same person, everyone would/should have realized that we've
been down this trail before with him. He's an ADT corporate employee,
dealing with large projects, who realizes what ADT has done to it's
reputation by getting into the residential arena, and ruining the image
of *his* job. When he sees someone here say something about how bad ADT
is, he takes it personally and thinks that it applies to what he does.
(Which, by the way, I think everyone has stated, or would agree, that
ADT does a fabulous job in the commercial arena and should have stayed
there). You'd think that by now he'd realilze that he's pissing into
the wind by supporting ADT's residental divisions and reputation, in a
group of independent small alarm dealers. The fact that after all these
years, he's again begun his troll like endeavors here, (which, by the
way, anyone who's been here long enough should remember that this is
how he entered the Newsgroup) which he knows he will never win,
intrigues me. Perhaps he's upset by the eagerly awaited demise of his
good friend Bass.
It's quite obvious that he has no knowlege whatsoever about the
residential trade or about the practices of ADT in this market. He's
typifies the consummate "engineer" or "computer specialist" that we all
run into, that thinks because he knows one thing, he knows all about
what you do and it must be pretty easy to do something that seems
related .... and so has all the answers to tell you why you are wrong
and why you should do something his way, instead of the way that you
know is right, through experience.
Probably best to treat him the same as Mc Weirdo and Mc Paul. At least
until he comes back down from his present perch. As otherwise, he seems
to be a pretty decent guy. This thread is MUCH too long and much ado
about what we, who are in direct contact with ADT in the trenches, all
know is true and he doesn't. He'll never be there and therefore never
be able to admit that the company he works for is a slut in the
residential market, as we all know it is.
Impasse.
