The eprom has 8 pins. The ATMEL chip sounds right, depending on the board
version. Did you try defaulting the panel?
Power down panel
Place a jumper from terminal 3 & PGM
Power up panel
Keypad will beep 3 times within 30 seconds I think.
Power down panel
Remove jumper
Power up and test...
