Both Winland Electronics and Sentrol (GE) make moisture detectors that will
respond to a film of water on the floor.  Sentrol's 5500 series consists of
a 5501 processor and a 5515 probe.  Total cost: ~$63.  Winland makes a
similar device, sold as a WB-200 kit with processor and probe for ~$51.
