Re: Opinions on alarms systems configured/monitored over IP network

Finally got a quote from a DMP dealer on my package - roughly the same as
the Bosch solution, BUT I get an XR500NL and a 7060 KP instead of a 'dialer
capture module,' and 738A interface modules for my Ademco wireless systems.
So instead of adding more equipment to a mixture, I will get all new
'matching' panels! Kind of like 63 takeovers.

I guess I am going for the SIS Windows Alarm Center software. It is close
to our DOS program in structure, so the operators should catch on easier.
The facility manager told me today the security upgrades were going in the
budget. I can't wait....

New fiber network, new 3COM phone system, new panels, new receiver, new
software, and all before the end of the year. At least the IT Manager is
handling the network end; now if I could just convince him the phones should
be his, too!!!!!

I am going thru the programming manual for the 500 panels now. I imagine I
will be doing the installs, with dealer help setting up the head end
equipment.

Thanks for the info, Jack.
