Re: Hub Discussion
I have a small preference for including a hub into xpl-apps because I
think a stand-alone hub isn't always necessary, could complicate
installs and will require considerable effort from the group (split
xpl lib & hub, move download link to xpl home page with big red font,
update documentation, remove internal hub from xpl Hal).
I have no problem going over the xpllib V3 code to seperate hub & lib
if the consensus is to have a seperate hub.
Mal has a similar idea I was thinking of: create some sort of
xpl-diagnostic program to help new users detect anomalies.
Functionalities: detect if a hub is running and what kind (no longer
necessary if seperate hub wins the vote), detecting if packets can
pass through firewall, IP-broadcast, listento, listenon settings,
allow sending test-msgs etcetera.
