Howdy,

I can't speak for xPLHAL, but the xPL4Java has an automatic hub that will
start if xPL4Java cannot detect a hub when it's loading. If it finds there
is already a hub running, xPL4Java doesn't start it's own -- it just uses
it.

If xPLHAL has a hub and if it can handle there being an existing hub and
silently using it (vs erroring out if it tries to unconditionally start a
hub), then all should work.

However, if xPLHAL expects to be able to start a hub and fails if it
cannot,
you'll need to arrange to have xPL4Java start *after* xPLHAL starts since
xPL4Java will adapt to either circumstance (there is a hub -- use it or
there is no hub -- start one).

I'll be honest -- I've never run xPL4Java and xPLHAL on the same computer
at
the same time. I rarely use Windows. However, they should get along as
xPL4Java is following the xPL spec and I'm fairly sure xPLHAL does too.
I'll see if I can scare up a machine with Windows on it and try running
both
to see if there is any complications. I'll report back.

This should be a simple setup, so I'm more than a bit concerned you are
running into problems.
