The xPL Monitor does not use xPLLib - due to it's origins, it uses some
slightly different code.
However, the XplMsg class is basically the same as that found in xpllib.
(in fact, it's exactly the same)

Yes - it looks that way.

All I can assume is that there is a faulty broadcast address set?
The xPL Network Settings utility should be able to confirm/reset the
broadcast address.
