Hi Frank
Thank you for your recomendations,there is certainly no devices
showing up in the 'xpl devices' or 'waiting configuration' area,
even after turning the firewall off and restarting all devices.
However when I click on the monitor button, I get the following
error message,It might mean something to you.
Regards Andrew

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
