That is correct.

In X10 there is no notion of a brightness level.
There is just dim and bright - that's it.

If you want to dim something to 40%, you send a number of dim commands
until it gets to 40%.
So, the more you want to dim or brighten, the longer it takes.

Yet another example of a poorly designed protocol IMO!

But unfortunately, the problem is not with the CM12, but with the
protocol itself.

Devices like the LD11 that support extended X10 have a command that will
set them directly to a specific level - this is much quicker and IMO is
something that every X10 dimmer should support.
