For locally stored tracks (first scan) I was getting 1000 (mp3 only) a
minute on a 1ghz processor, have never tried over the lan. Maybe someone
else can advise.

It _is_ processor intensive, but this seems to relate to the database
acitivity rather than the scanning action itself

I'm trying to get xplmedianet less intensive for those that want to use the
scanner, but can't find a way to reduce the database functions grabbing the
cpu
