Hi Tom,

Any particular reason for not wanting batteries?

Mine last about 18 months on average in my x10 pir's, so changing annually
ensures they keep running.

Also, saves cabling, they'll still work during a power failure (assuming
your pc is on a ups and using a non-powerline x10 rf receiver), and if
youre
really worried about batteries you can set up an xplhal script to warn if
they go missing.

Alternatively consider the above scenario but with a mains/relay pir
connected to an x10 security unit. Ok this uses batteries but it reports in
every hour (so you can detect it going missing i.e. batteries flat or
stolen!) and still means no wiring back to pc.

If you really want to use the mains you can run the x10 pir or security
unit
off a power brick?

Regards
Tony
