Unfortunately I think the InStreamer will probably be the best way to go.

If you use the method that Tony describes, you'll need to get the
line-leve=
l audio from your CD player in the lounge back to Node0 some how.
If you only have Cat5 available, I guess you'd need to use something like
K=
at5 to send the audio over the Cat5, where you could then pipe it into a
so=
und card in Node0 and make it available as a shoutcast stream.

I notice the InStreamer has an infra-red socket - anyone know if this is
fo=
r controlling the equipment - if so, it may be another advantage of going
w=
ith the InStreamer - you'd be able to control the CD player via the web.

Still seems expensive though.
