I'm guessing that both Perl and Python are available on FreeBSD, so either
the Perl or Python xPL toolkits should work (though they're a bit basic in
what they offer, and are more intended to get developers started).
I'm guessing there is also an implementation of Java for FreeBSD, so you
should be able to use Gerry's xPL Java framework (I'm sure Gerry can
clarify whether FreeBSD is a supported platform).
As has already been stated in recent posts, we really need some more
software being developed in a cross-platform language, as support for
non-Windows platforms is currently a bit lacking.
Personally, the reason I develop most of my xPL stuff in .NET is because I
get paid to develop in .NET, so learning other languages such as Perl, Java
etc. is something that needs to be done in my spare time - which is not
something I have a lot of.
Regards,
John
