Intersting thought.
Though the keycodes I'm thinking of are actually not one-to-one remote
control mappings, theyre actually functions in xplmedianet e.g. 'clear' is
a
key that isn't actually on the rio remote (it's just mapped to cancel in
certain modes).
Maybe this means it's doing as you suggest? Not sure.

Though maybe not, as you may mean CTL-C = clear?
