Actually I think this is probably the best way after all, thinking more
about it.

The generic web interface can be built-in, but this doesn't stop (due to
the
modular nature and available hooks) someone else writing a separate web
interface (either for all or one client type)

It also means an alternative generic web server can be used without a risk
of the 2 getting confused (either using it's own separate modules or
all-in-one).

Will go with the existing format for now, apologies for posting to myself
yet again - it just helps think things thru!

Though is anyone has any thought/comments please let me know.
