xPLMediaNet various

Hi all,

Many thanks to Tom for his help converting xplmedianet to do the database
stuff in a better way. From now on they'll be none of the //0 etc character
mappings in the database fields and this also speeds up processing as
strings no longer need to be run thru conversion routines :-)

With any luck (and if I don't have to work this weekend) then another week
or two should see the first test version (rio only) being available...

Have finished the keymapping mod's, and they work fine. The keymaps are
based around xplmedianet functions (rather than direct remote control
button
function mapping) so extra functions in the menu's like page up/down,
home/end can be mapped to keys if they are required.

Also the flat database approach has worked well, and means there is no need
for stored queries/proceedures (so hopefully xplmedianet will be mysql
compatible).

However, I am thinking that the "media.dll" source should
generate some
additional reference tables for artist/album/genre lists. This would make
displaying the lists much faster for people who have a lot of tracks, as
currently these lists are generated are by processing the complete list of
tracks?

Obviously this makes the database bigger, but is probably worth it?

Any thoughts/comments please?

Thanks
Tony
