Turns out this isn't related to splicing, and applies to all movies as far
as I can tell.
E.g. an 8 second clip get's cut-off 3 secs from end, and a 30 second clip
get's cut-off 7 seconds early.
The hauppauge software does exactly the same, and therefore this is a fault
in dongle.bin (I guess) or the mvp itself.
Have reported it to hauppauge.
