The iButtons do work on a 1wire network, i've had a mixture before now.
How do I send an"f"?

I'm surprised it picks it up at all!
The code first checks the 1 Wire family code of each device
(sensor), as a different conversion has to happen for each type. If
it doesn't see a family code it recognises then you should see
"n".
Just out of curiosity could you send a "f" to the board and let
me
know what family code it reports back for the iButton.
Cheers
Justin
