I don't think the device name works, John can you confirm this?. The name
is partly there so that the codes can be easily selected from the X10
screen where you can right click on a device to change it's status.

You can get web information from xplHal but it requires a small amount of
coding. Alternatively you can run the xpl manager software on any machine
on the network and just point it back to xplhal on the main machine.

You need to call the news script from a schedule or via a determinator.
Alternatively you can use the xpl news VB6 application on my site
www.gadgetshed.co.uk which read RSS feeds and send out osd.basic messages.
