Hello Tony,
Sorry for the delayed response. I'm in France until Sunday, so I'm unlikely
to be able to catch up properly until then...
Your plan seems to cover all the stuff that I had thought of.
As regards multiple Rios trying to access multiple tracks from the same
changer, the best solution that I can think of is to "queue" the
second
track and connect the second Rio to the Shoutcast stream (if applicable) so
that it will receive the track when it does get played.
Not sure how relevant it is, but:
1. I believe my (Sony) CD changers support some kind of CDDB querying, as
the CDJ software was able to retrieve CDDB-style information automatically.
I'll try to find out how this works as this might save some time creating
.m3u files manually. Don't know if other changers support this sort of
thing
though
2. The Slink-e triggers an event about 5 seconds before the end of each
track (presumably this is part of the Sony control protocol) allowing CDJ
to
signal another changer to cue up the next track - assuming the next track
is
on another changer of course! I should be able to get my Slink-e <->
xPL
gateway to send a status message for this.
Rob.
