Hi Rob,

> Your plan seems to cover all the stuff that I had thought of.

The stuff I've implemented in the current release works slightly
differently
to what I originally thought. But not by much.

The .m3u files are now replaced by a .cd files (since we're only interested
in track names, not paths)

If the scanner finds a folder(s) in one of the scan paths that has no mp3's
it looks for control.xml. If it finds this it assumes that it is a cd
changer (1 changer per folder) and within that folder are a series of files
named 1.cd to x.cd for each cd in the changer (the .cd file contains
artist,
album, genre and a list of track names). If cover art is needed then it is
necessary to create a sub-folder for each cd with the coverart in it (e.g.
..\1\folder.jpg or ..\1\my album.bmp.

The tracks, albums, artists, genre's all integrate into the web interface
like any mp3, though I may add a flag to show it's in a cd changer rather
than being an mp3?

The only thing missing (that I can think of) is how to detect end of track?

The 2 options seem to be:

A) John's suggestion of trying to detect silence

B) Putting a track length in .cd file

Any thoughts?

I don't know slink-e, how does it know when it's 5 seconds before the end
of
the track?

Thanks
Tony
