Wrong end of the stick ;-)
The configured event is fired when a config.response arrives from xplhal
It is this event (or the idividual item events if preferred) that should be
used to configure the device (though you can set default values in the form
load)
The xpl ocx will not pass messages to the app (normally) anyway until the
configured event fires.
