There are four different power supplies that have shipped with the MSS100's
so you do need to check that the current rating of the supply will not be
exceeded (its written on the psu label). Some are as low as 1A but the
majority are 3A or 4A supplies so usually lots in reserve. Probably best to
find a suitable male connector that the power supply can plug into and
create a 'Y' cable to onwardly feed the VFD and the MSS100 - and now you
have a networked xPL display.
