Hmmm - no difference :-(

I noticed that the CM12 service writes an event if something is wrong
and it can't communicate (like if I unplug the CM12).  I haven't looked
at your code, but I wonder if it would be an easy matter to add a
similar log of the data sent to, and received from, the CM12 while
attempting to send a command?  That might at least help to track down
where communication is breaking down.
