series port what's one of those!!!!! I believe that should have read serial
port before the spell checker got hold of it. DOH!!

By this do you want,

a) multiple circuits one for each room coming back into one series port,
this way you would have a separate instance for each room, this would
potential mean a series input required per room but allow for direct zone
addressing
b) one circuit feeding in the information with the zone as a named pair,
here you will only need one series port but the direct zone addressing
might be a bit more complex requiring a status message with a zone name in
the message

If you can think of another option feel free to throw it in.
