The update plugin just downloads some information about the different
vendor devices not any apps. Hence you won't see them in xPLManager.

The easiest way to see if xPLHal is working is to run a xPL application.
Install and run xPL_Clock this should appear in the Devices->Awaiting
Configuration, It's waiting to be named something else but config.

Also run xPL_Monitor this should also appear in the awaiting configuration
and once you have given it a new name it should start displaying xPL
messages that are being sent. In this case just hbeat.app (i.e. heartbeat
from the devices).
