The Lifespan of the VFD is long: as long as it doesn't display a
static
image (they get a burn effect like CRTs) for more than 5 hours at a
time,
the noritake design guide reckons it's MTBF is in the 150K hours
timeframe.
:)
It runs from 5V, and draws about 700mA (max 800mA)
