My own carputer frontend has voice support, so I thought it would be nice
to
be able to control powerdvd with voice commands. I reprogrammed the events
in the powerdvd_xp.gml file (eventually I realised it was actually an xml
file) to my own events. With the send function of the girder com control I
can now control it from my own software.

The mp3 front end is my own creation (again totally voice controlled,
including album/artist/track names in addition to normal controls). The
layout is a bit of a rip-off of another piece of software tbh. But I think
mines better ;-)

Artist/Album/Track and cover art at the top are what's currently playing
The numbers next to some tracks on the menu are their play order

It's occurred to me that having girder in the system means I can also add
an
infrared remote to the carputer at some stage...

Next up, when I get one, is a tv card.
I'm really tempted to try a FTA card, though I don't see how I can get a
good enough signal in the car (without fitting a 20 foot aerial to the car
roof!).

Regards
Tony
