I have never tried it when it is running as a service but the easiest
way to
check is to run xPL_HomeVision and it will tell you if it can
connect. If
you run it with xplHision.exe /debug you can select seitch view from
the
menu and it will display the messages being sent from HomeVision.

You need to enable DDE reporting in the HV GUI though. (Configure -
controller settings)
