tvosd is fine - the device ID just need to be 8 valid (a-z, A-Z, 0-9)
characters or less.

I think it achieves all that is required while still keeping the separation
between header and body. Where by the header get the message to the device
and body then details what to do when it gets there. This is one of the
key differences between xPL and xAP, in xAP you either need to store or
reparse the header details in order to determine which device or zone you
need to work with.

Out of interest what is the best way to get the timing (say every 5
minutes) for a heartbeat. Either use a chip with an internal clock and do
time compares or work out the processing time for one pass of the code and
divide the time through by that? Or someway else that I don't know about?
