Michael McSharry has done a huge amount of work with xAP and 1-wire , I
don't have a url to hand for all of his stuff but he has taken xAP as an
underlying protocol and integrated this into his whole HA setup with a
particualr emphasis on resilience and flexibility. If you search the
HomeSeer message boards eg the xAP forum there and find his posts it may
prove interesting. He has some fairly detailed docs on all this too.
Also search for other posts he has made re distributed devices.
