To give you some info about the service hub I stopped all xap applications
and started the hub service. I observed with a viewer on a second computer
that the hub heartbeat appears. I started the viewer on the same computer
as the hub service. The left panel of the viewer showed itself, but
nothing
in the right panel. The viewer also produced a heartbeat on the second
computer.

All that is perfectly correct and as expected - the Viewer app I am
guessing
is correctly running in a 'non hub' mode ie the title bar shows xAP
Message
Viewer rather than xAP Message Viewer (xFX hub) - are you saying though
that
no other network devices ever appear in Viewer - either ones local to that
PC or remote ones on your network ? The fact that Viewer sees its own
heartbeat says it is using the hub and that it is working but they might
both be bound to the WAN interface.

I have all the xap applications configured with listening IP = 192.168.0.1
and broadcast IP = 192.168.0.255

Not sure where that 'listening IP' is coming from or how you are
configuring
it (?) - is that the address of your LAN network card - if so what I am
guessing here is that the hub (as you suggested earlier) is binding to the
WAN adaptor rather than the LAN one - Presumably this particular machine
then is the WAN gateway machine. This is different to my setup where my
router is the gateway. So you have one machine on your network that has
this
issue - the WAN gateway one, but all others work OK ? Maybe S we have to
detect the cative LAN card better - or allow configuration when multiple
NIC
cards are installed.

If I use IP defaults then the WAN NIC is used rather than the LAN one.
I still do have the problem of duplicates that we investigated before.
I still have the problem of dropped messages if more than about 20 are
blasted. Dont know if problem is with the output queue not able to handle
the blast, the input queue at the receiving end, or routing in between.

I am running fairly heavy xAP traffic here and have never noticed dropped
packets and I have never seen duplicate packets..Does anyone else see this
???

Seems like virtually everyong must be on an extended Holiday as
communications in this group has almost dried up.

Summer is always a quiet time and there are now about 8 different xAP lists
which dilutes everything - plus quite a lot of chatter on MSN etc - once
the temp drops a bit ( I would say the sun disappears but over the last few
weeks we have had nothing but rain) the traffic will probably perk up a
bit.

I think we're talking about the X10 Connector here now? Not sure
there's a whole lot I can do about this one as I don't have any
source.

I would like to know what the problem with the Service version of the
Hub is compared to the others. I've had this running on my Server for
days now (I recently-ish rebooted) and it's still spinning away
happily. It's not related to the unresolved multiple messages and
multiple network interfaces by any chance. Probably not since the
others work fine.

Tracing is a bit haphazard in these apps rather than well integrated -
something I need to change. I add it in as I encounter problems.
